Meet Brieanah Schwartz
What did you do before you were a copywriter?
Before becoming a copywriter, I practiced law! I chose to go to law school to learn how a legal education could help animals and the environment. Most recently, I was an attorney for a nonprofit organization that fought to protect the USA’s federally-protected populations of wild horses and burros.
How did you get into copywriting?
After litigating with this organization for five years, and securing some influential federal court wins, it became clear that our legal system was not the best path to generating the change I wanted to see for wild animals, public lands, and more. So, I decided to learn skills that could help me leverage the power of public support and action. After all, the more people who know about an issue, and what is being done to stop it, the closer we get to change.
What’s your favorite type of copy to write and why?
I truly enjoy email and social media copy because it is the copy that is most accessible to the general public. These two sources are where you have the opportunity to meet people where they are and convey quick, powerful stories that not only show them what is happening in your niche but also what your organization is doing to remedy the issues.
What niches do you have experience in?
Nonprofits, environmental issues, plant-based products, animal issues, women’s rights, personal development, pet services, legal services, and wineries.
What would you say is your Reignmaker Magic (aka your stand-out superpowers)?
I take pride in serving as a powerful consultant who can help you quickly achieve your goals. From content creation to strategy, I’m here to help you elevate your organization’s messaging so you can stand out and create the change you are working towards.
What myth or misconception about copywriting frustrates you the most?
A common misconception is that, as a freelancer, we do not care as much as an employee would. However, employment status has nothing to do with passion. I truly care about every cause I work on and do everything in my power to make sure my clients succeed.
What is your dream client/project?
I love helping an organization dive deep into their messaging so they can clearly and powerfully explain why their work is important and making a difference. It truly brings me so much joy to watch my clients achieve their reach and awareness goals with empathetic and engaging copy.
What is a copywriting career moment you’re most proud of?
Recently, I helped an organization launch a new project live at a vegan festival in Baltimore, Maryland. It was an incredible experience to create eye-catching physical marketing materials and have deep, powerful conversations with people (and now supporters) beyond and away from screens.
What’s the best compliment you’ve received as a copywriter?
“As a writer, Brieanah brought a high level of dedication and creativity to her work. Her ability to craft engaging and impactful content left a lasting impression on both our team and our audience.
Beyond her writing skills, Brieanah’s positive attitude and collaborative nature made her a joy to work with. She was always dependable, meeting deadlines and demonstrating a strong sense of professionalism. Her skills and warm personality make her a true asset to any team.”
Finish this sentence: When I’m not writing, you’ll find me…
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me walking my property with my two dogs, Pie and Dandy, and watching the horses graze nearby. 💜
