Two High-Converting Landing Pages (and why they work)

Today, I’m going to show you two of my highest converting landing pages straight from the Copy Poss vault.

One opt-in page that converts 79% of traffic into email subscribers.

And one sales page that has a 14.33% SALES conversion rate.

Which is pretty dang good when compared to industry averages.

According to multiple sources, including Unbounce and HubSpot, the average conversion rate for opt-in pages is approximately 6%.

And the average sales conversion rate across all industries is between 2-4%.

This means the pages I’m sharing with you today are outperforming the industry average by a long shot. 

Ready to take a look and break down exactly why they worked so well?

Let’s start with the sales page.

365-Day Inbox Income (Sales Page)

This page sells my $27 email marketing mini-course 365-Day Inbox Income – which helps marketers and business owners plan their annual email marketing calendar. 

I recently pulled data for this offer.

As you can see here in Google Analytics, this page has had a total of 7,223 unique visitors over the last 10 months.

And, according to my Kajabi account, a total of 1035 sales in that same period.

So, after some quick math, that is a 14.33% conversion rate.

Let’s take a look at the page. As you’ll see, this page is pretty simple.

We have a headline here at the top that communicates the BIG PROMISE of the offer, which is a year of money-making emails made easy.

We have a short sales video to accompany it, which is only about 4 minutes long.

And right at the top, you can see we also included the price and a button to buy.

As you scroll down, you can see that this page is VERY SHORT – especially if you’re at all familiar with my brand and have seen my other sales pages.

THIS sales page is easily 4x shorter than a typical sales page I write and that’s because of the lower price.


Less “selling” needed to be done here, and it was super fun and interesting to see such a high conversion rate on this shorter page. 

We’ve started testing MORE short pages like this and TBD on the results, but you know I’ll share them with you here.

We really only have a few sections of copy on this page.

An intro section here which talks about the importance of email marketing for making consistent income.

In this next section, we go on to address some of the common objections a person might have when it comes to email marketing.

Then we go on to explain just how EASY making money from your email list can be – as long as you have these 3 things:

  • An email marketing calendar that makes planning promotions, emails, and content easy. 
  • Knowing how to write binge-worthy emails that build trust with your list.
  • And promotional frameworks that simplify this whole process for you. 

Which, of course, are the three things that this product does. 

And that’s really it for the “sales copy”.

We then go into a short bio of me, with some credibility and authority added, some social proof, a breakdown of everything included in the mini-course, more social proof and some FAQs. 

And that’s it.  See how SIMPLE it is?!

It’s got a clear, benefit-rich headline.

Objections are directly addressed early on.

There’s a breakdown of the benefits of how this mini-course will help the reader turn their list into a money-making machine.

Now, what’s interesting about this page is that even though the conversion rate is very high, my reporting shows that about 60% of this page’s visitors viewed the page at least twice BEFORE buying.

Which reflects what I’ve been saying for the last year, people today are taking longer to buy. 

They’re taking more time to experience your brand across multiple touchpoints, especially if they’re brand-new leads.

They want to get to know you a bit better and make sure they can TRUST you BEFORE they give you their money. 

And how can you build trust?

Well, one of the BEST ways you can build trust is by offering them something of HIGH VALUE for FREE.

And that brings me to the next page we’re going to discuss a landing page for one of my top-converting lead magnets.

Subject Line Split-Test Report (Lead Magnet) 

As you can see here, this landing page here promotes a FREE lead magnet that I actually created WITH THE GOAL of building trust with new leads, specifically when it comes to email marketing. 

And why would I want new leads to trust me when it comes to email marketing???

So when they see my email marketing mini-course, they’re that much more likely to buy from me because I’ve ALREADY demonstrated that I can help them get better results in their email marketing. 

Now, this is really important – just because this is a FREE offer doesn’t mean we don’t want to put just as much thought into the copy on this page as we would a sales page.

Because it’s a VERY IMPORTANT step in the buying journey.

So let’s take a look at the page.

Okay right away at the top, we’re saying exactly what this offer is.

A free subject line split test report.

The headline says: 100 subject lines that drive more clicks and engagement.

So the reader knows that this is free, and they know exactly what they’re getting – 100 subject line split-test results.

AND they have a benefit-rich description of why they should want it, for more clicks and engagement. 

When it comes to high-converting landing pages, this part of your page is EVERYTHING. 

In just a few words you need to communicate: what the offer is, why they want it and how to get it.

Then we have a button here to get instant access – and all of this is above the fold of the page – which means they see it WITHOUT needing to scroll. 

We also have a little authority banner here to establish trust right away.

And honestly, that right there COULD be the end of this landing page. Nothing more is really needed for a free offer like this.

However, you can see we did add a little bit more info below for the scrollers.

This includes a quick little breakdown of everything included.

And a brief bio about me.

And of course, you always want to end your page with another CTA – which again is to sign up for instant access. 

Now, here the data on this page.

  • It has had a total of 4,483 unique visitors
  • 3528 email sign-ups
  • For a conversion rate of: 79%

Pretty damn good! 

But do you think we could make it EVEN BETTER???

Well, that’s the question my team and I are trying to find out.

Remember, the #1 rule of marketing is that you should ALWAYS be testing and trying to improve what you already have.

That’s why we are in the middle of testing a brand-new landing page format to see if we can get that conversion rate up EVEN HIGHER.

It’s currently showing an 85% conversion rate, but we’re waiting for more numbers to make sure it’s significant first.
