The Ultimate List of Podcasts For Marketing Tips & Creative Inspiration

Sure. Everyone knows you can learn tons of hot marketing tips online… but what if the real goldmine for mad marketing wisdom and crazy creative inspiration has nothing to do with studying programs, formulas, or strategies online…

And EVERYTHING to do with tuning into your favorite True Crime Podcast?

Keep reading for 25 podcasts you MUST add to your listen list…

Let’s face it, when you run your own biz and spend all your days (and all your nights ) completely immersed in the online world of freelancing, content creation, marketing, and copywriting…

It can be way too easy to find yourself trapped inside an echo chamber of the same old advice, same old tips, and same old tired practices.

And before you know it—you’re left with NO new ideas and ZERO creative flow.

Which is not so good considering your career kinda depends on it…

Sometimes the best inspiration comes from taking a little break from your business, stepping away from your niche, and tuning into a thrilling story about a bank heist gone wrong or an educational brain-buster explaining how bioluminescence works.

That is exactly why I turned to The Posse Community to find the best Podcasts out there…

And in today’s blog, I’m counting down my top podcast picks across a variety of genres ranging from business to true crime, science, comedy & everything in between…

So that you can find exactly what YOU NEED to supercharge YOUR creative flow.

Hey guys! What’s up? It’s Alex!

And I’m super excited about today’s blog because I’m a HUGE believer in LATERAL LEARNING—aka looking for inspiration in unlikely places, outside of the obvious niche-specific sources.

And if you’re new to the crew—welcome! Every week, I put out a brand new, hot-off-the-press, tutorial on everything from marketing tips, to copywriting strategies, to content creation, and tons more.

So go ahead and subscribe to my newsletter to find out when my next blog goes up.

Now, like the majority of people… I absolutely love listening to podcasts! It’s one of my favorite ways to mellow out, de-stress, or just enjoy a little R&R time.

But most importantly… podcasts are also one of my favorite places to get creative inspiration

Because even though I’m NOT a huge fan of listening to marketing or copywriting podcasts… I do love podcasts that are geared towards great storytelling, current events, history, or—my favourite—psychology

And while it might seem unconventional at first glance, these podcasts are constantly providing me with awesome hooks and killer stats to use in my writing.

So no matter which genre of podcasts you prefer—there’s bound to be one on this list that can act as the instant fuel you need to turn your inspo into income.

Sit back, and get ready to listen to the ones that catch your attention… we’ve got a juicy list of podcasts to get through—so let’s do it.

Alright, the first category on this list…

Top Business Podcasts

Okay, the next category on the list is a personal favorite…

True Crime Podcasts

I’m not Agatha Christie, but I love learning about a good mystery that needs to be solved. Here are some of my top picks when it comes to the more peculiar podcasts.

Dr. Death

Dr. Death is a podcast produced by Wondery that focuses on egregious cases of medical malpractice.

Currently on Season 3: Miracle Man. A story of trust, betrayal, and miracles.

Christopher Duntsch was a neurosurgeon who radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away.

But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who—or what—is that system meant to protect?

True Spies by Spycape

True Spies takes you inside the world’s greatest espionage and detective operations.

Hosts Hayley Atwell and Vanessa Kirby talk to the real spies behind the missions. What do they know? What are their skills? And what would you do in their position? They explore and investigate real-life thrillers, mysteries, and crimes—stories that prove truth is stranger than fiction!

These stories cover lies, murder, theft, sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll. You’ll meet experts from the top intelligence agencies including FBI, CIA, MI5, MI6 (SIS), KGB, GRU, Mossad, and many others.

Crime Junkie

Every Monday, Ashley Flowers will tell you about whatever crime she’s been obsessing over that week in a way that sounds like you’re sitting around talking about crime with your best friends.

The storytelling is straightforward and free of rabbit holes so the cases stay suspenseful and are easy to follow.

My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff & Georgia Hardstark

Lifelong fans of true crime stories Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark tell each other their favorite tales of murder and hear hometown crime stories from friends and fans.

They bring empathy and comedy to their storytelling in a way that is relatable and fun. Any other murderinos reading? Comment below and let me know.

Alright, now the next genre on the list had a lot of “big names” that were recommended. I included a few but also tried to include some that might be lesser known…

Josh and Chuck have you covered in the explainer podcast that is named quite aptly — Stuff You Should Know

Alright now for the final category on this list (and the one with the most “Posse Picks”…)

Education, History & Science Podcasts

If you’re ever needing to research on a topic, then listening to a podcast can save you hours of doing your own research. Here are some of our favs when it comes to educational podcasts.

Stuff You Missed In History Class by iHeart Radio

In this podcast, Holly and Tracy bring you the greatest and strangest Stuff You Missed In History Class.

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History

In “Hardcore History” journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his “Martian,” unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past.

Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras?

This isn’t academic history (and Carlin isn’t a historian) but the podcast’s unique blend of high drama, masterful narration, and Twilight Zone-style twists have entertained millions of listeners.

Ologies with Alie Ward

Volcanoes. Trees. Drunk butterflies. Mars missions. Slug sex. Death. Beauty standards. Anxiety busters. Beer science. Bee drama.

Take away a pocket full of science knowledge and charming, bizarre stories about what fuels these professional -ologists’ obsessions.

Humorist and science correspondent Alie Ward asks smart people stupid questions and the answers might change your life.

Science Vs

Taking on fads, trends, and the opinionated mob to find out what’s fact, what’s not, and what’s somewhere in between.

There are a lot of fads, blogs, and strong opinions, but then there’s SCIENCE. Science Vs does the hard work of sifting through all the “science” so you don’t have to. They cover everything from 5G and Pandemics, to Vaping and Fasting Diets.

Kwik Brain with Jim Kwik

A fun, fast-paced show designed to help busy people learn and achieve anything in a fraction of the time!

My friend and brilliant brain wizard, Jim Kwik (his real name), is the brain & memory trainer to elite mental performers, including many of the world’s leading CEO’s and celebrities.

Discover Jim’s favorite shortcuts to read faster, remember more, and ‘supercharge’ your greatest wealth-building asset: your brain.
