The New Era of Marketing
We are stepping into a brand new era of marketing.
One where the people who are genuinely connected to their work β not the loudest, not the flashiest, not the β10X your hustleβ bros β are the ones quietly growing their audiences, making more sales and building businesses that last.
And the reason is simple:
Success in 2026 requires mastering two worlds that used to live on opposite planets.
These are two things that most people used to think were completely different business models, and even at odds with each other.
Iβm talking about masteringβ¦
#1. Your BRAND
Your vision, your voice, your perspective, your personal brand. The content and message that draws your right-fit clients to you.
And #2. Your BUSINESS
This is your offers, your funnels, your systems, your sales. The marketing machinery that actually turns attention into income.
For years, these two worlds barely interacted when it came to the online world. But now? Messaging and marketing, brand and business, are completely inseparable. And you need both to be successful in 2026.
The Marketing Shift I Saw Coming A Decade Ago
Back in my early direct-response marketing days, the βbrand sideβ of this equation was widely ignored by most online business owners and reserved solely for product-based βofflineβ businesses like Apple or Pampers or Southwest Airlines.
In fact, I wrote for many clients over the years who never showed their faces anywhere. They donβt post photos, content, or videos of any kind, their websites were nothing but squeeze pages and sales pages and their social media was non-existent. In fact, many of them didnβt even use their real name in their marketing. Everything was written under a pseudonym.
They had no brand. And absolutely no one knew who they were, which is great if youβre doing shady stuff. Now almost all of my clients were amazing people but there were a lot of other dubious players in the industry.
And thatβs because, back then, all you needed was a good βofferβ and enough cash to buy some traffic and you could literally make millions online.
That means that as long as anyone knew how to sell, they could be very very successful online. Which was great, but it also meant that the products and services being slung all over the internet werenβt usually coming from people or brands who cared all that much about their customers or about building a lasting business.
I remember going to marketing events and rather than someone asking βWhatβs your business,β or βWhat do you do,β or βWho do you help?β they would say βWhat is your offer?β
Such a strange question, right? But it pointed to this short-term thinking where people just needed something, anything to sell. And would do just about anything to make it happen because they could stay hidden behind the curtain, like the Wizard of Oz. And when it stopped working, theyβd just launch a new faceless offer.
It was around that time, over a decade ago, that I really noticed this dangerous divide in the industry. There were the business owners, coaches, and subject-matter experts who had products and services they deeply cared about and could genuinely help people. More often than not, these were the people building businesses based on real experience, passion, and results. But they just didnβt have the marketing skills to get their message out there.
And then there were the βmarketers,β the ones who could sell anything, even if they didnβt really believe in it. And while there were a lot of great authentic marketers out there, many were using manipulative, hypey and severely outdated sales tactics that I just didnβt vibe with.
My Marketing Mission
This unfair imbalance in promotional power became the whole reason I started the Copy Posse. I wanted to help authentic, heart-centered rad humans take back the internet by teaching them the marketing skills they need to stand out and win. This is what I mean when I say Iβm here to de-doucify the internet, redefine modern marketing and build an empathy empire.
And let me tell you, this mission is even more relevant now than it was a decade ago.
Since I launched the Copy Posse, I have always said that I believe the best marketing today combines proven direct-response copywriting principles with modern-day branding and storytelling.
Donβt believe me, take a look at my website 5 years ago on WayBackMachine.
And everything I teach is about bringing these two worlds into balance.
So call me a psychic, why don’t you, because the shift I saw coming 10 years ago is here in a big way now. And it has been massively accelerated by AI and the ability for anyone to create anything on the Internet in seconds. And unfortunately, those douchebags I was talking about earlierβ¦Yeah, let’s just say theyβre still around. and now theyβre douchebags with AI which is a scary thought.
But we only have two options here at the Posse.
We can choose to hide, we can choose to give up, we can choose to throw our hands in the air and say βwhatβs the freaking point?β Marketing is hard now.
Or we can choose to double down on what makes us human and what our clients and customers out there are desperate for and will pay a premium for.
Nowβs not the time to hide in your offers and systems. If you want to win in 2026, your brand matters just as much as your business does.
Which is really, really, really good news for you if you love what you do, care about your clients and customers and want to show up more authentically in 2026.
So letβs talk about what this means for you and where you should be focusing your efforts this year!
Marketing for Service Providers
If you provide services to your clients 1-1, you typically have the business side more dialed in than the brand side. You have an offer, a strategy and the systems you need to make sales and clients.
Thatβs great! But like many of the copywriters and other service providers I hear from in my community, maybe you avoid showing up online and the idea of βbuilding a personal brand onlineβ makes you cringeβ¦
I get it. Because I used to be youβ¦
But if you want to transition out of 1:1 work. And if you want to build your authority. If you want to get bigger-name clients. If you want to raise your rates. Plus, if you want to be a sought-after expert so that clients come to you and you can start building a team, an agency, or maybe even a community.
You need to focus on building your personal brand.
And I’m not saying you need to be a prolific content creator. Those are two very different things.
Building a personal brand is simply about being present, approachable and available when your dream clients come looking. And that, as a bare minimum, is extremely important for service providers, more so now than ever before!
Marketing for Community Builders
Now, if youβre a content creator or community builder, you likely have the brand side a bit more dialed in. You’re showing up, you’re creating, you’re building your audience
Thatβs great! But maybe youβre feeling stagnant and want to dial in your systems, crystallize your offers, and automate your sales so you can grow your business without having to stay on the content hamster wheel.
The way to get there? Scale and optimize your marketing.
So where do you fall on this scale? Have you been more focused on business or on brand?
Hereβs the brutally honest truth you need to hear. If you keep living in only one of those worlds, your growth will hit a wall in 2026. Itβs not a matter of if. Itβs a matter of when.
Businesses that have relied only on great offers and traffic are struggling right now because they never built a brand people cared about.
And creators who relied only on personality and audience are hitting revenue ceilings because their backend canβt support the growth they want.
You need to focus on both of these things to grow your business in 2026.
But it doesnβt have to be complex, scary or overwhelming. So hereβs what I want you to do right now to determine your 2026 marketing playbook.
Your 2026 Marketing Playbook
Grab a pen and paper or open a note in your phone. Now what youβre going to do is RATE yourself 1β10 on both sides.
When it comes to branding, visibility, and messaging. where do you fall?
And when it comes to the business side of thing β offers, systems, and optimization, where do you fall?
What grade would you give yourself out of 10? There is no right answer.
You might be low on both. High on both. Or totally lopsided.
Iβve been working for myself for 15 years, and even Iβm not even a 10/10 on both sides. I will be focusing on both in 2026 and you know Iβll report back here with everything I learn along the way.
So what did you score yourself on Brand? On Business? No judgment, no shame! We are all in this together and remember you canβt compare yourself to anyone else. Weβre all on different journeys, come from different places and move at different paces.
Now wherever you scored lower, this is where I want you to focus your efforts in 2026.
Focus on strengthening the side youβve been neglecting β either personal branding or scalable business systems β and everything else will get easier.
By the way, this Brand and Business Playbook is the foundation of everything I teach inside my REIGN Mastermind.
